NEET was previously named as AIPMT(All India Pre-Medical Test). It is carried out by the NTA(National Testing Agency). The seat distribution is on the basis of the NEET results and is executed by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare’s Directorate General of Health Services and State Counselling Authorities. Its exam syllabus is designed with the concepts of Physics, Chemistry and Biology. It has 180 questions, 45 from each Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology. It has four marks for every correct answer and one negative mark for each wrong answer. The time allowed for the exam is 180 minutes.
The IIT JEE exam is administered in two steps, JEE Mains and JEE Advanced. JEE Mains is carried out in sessions. Only those who pass the JEE Mains exam are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced. For JEE Mains, the candidate must have passed the 12th exam or appeared for the 12th exam in the same year. JEE has more weightage in Maths while NEET in Biology.
